£22,000 (pro rata if part time)

Full time or part time - rota over 7 days, permanent or seasonal contract (seasonal May to end of September)

Do you want to make a name for yourself? We are reinventing our catering operation at Brockhole on Windermere. Do you want to be part of this transformation?

With an existing visitor base of over 300,000 per annum, we are looking for a talented Chef who working with the new Head Chef and new Catering Manager will deliver a high quality locally sourced food offering across 3 Catering outlets at the beautiful Brockhole on Windermere site. Drawing in our visitors to sample a taste of the Lake District and receive good honest local and fair offering. Brockhole is home to the Lake District National Park Visitor Centre fingers crossed…. soon to become a World Heritage Visitor Centre from July 2017!

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Chef to join us at Brockhole. As a small team operating over a 7 day operation (c.1000 – 1700 in the season) we have big ideas for growth. Brockhole is a taste of the lakes discovery centre from adrenaline action to cultural relaxation and stimulation. We have something for everyone. You can help grow that team through running the kitchen and delivering fantastic, high quality Cumbrian brunches, lunches, afternoon teas and event catering.  

Our ideal candidate will be a qualified Chef with experience or a passion for creating imaginative menus with our Head Chef for using local and seasonal produce, creating weekly, monthly and annual menu planners to incorporate seasonal changes, promotional offers and specials. You will have a passion for excellence.

We are looking for someone with ambition, who can run our 3 catering outlets when our our Head Chef is not on site. Someone who could be given accountability to lead on developing one of these outlets as a standalone project for them to showcase their talent.

You will have sound knowledge of Health and Safety and Food Hygiene legislation associated with a catering environment as well as all procedures and processes associated with running a kitchen.
