Freelance Advertising Sales Manager

£150 day rate + attractive bonus scheme

Contract: June/ July (6 weeks/ 1-2 days a week/ 12 days in total)

The National Park is aiming to deliver an inspirational example of sustainable development by 2030. Our approach to achieve this is to work with our partners, advertisers, sponsors, communities and to seek out strategic investors to generate funds to look after this special place. All funds generated are invested back into the National Park.

The National Park is seeking an experienced Advertising Sales Manager to work in a freelance capacity to commercialise a section of the lakedistrict.gov.uk website and generate sales in our information centres via our existing advertising opportunities.

About the role

The main focus of the Advertising Sales Manager role will be selling advertising and sponsorship opportunities to accommodation providers in the Lake District National Park on the lakedistrict.gov.uk website.

Our website lakesdistrict.gov.uk is the starting point for many of our visitors and local residents. We are the official voice for the patch and we have over 1.7 million unique visits each year.

We are giving accommodation providers and attractions the chance to work with us differently and help us spread the word on the exciting places to stay when visiting.

The primary focus is about generating and converting sales for the website and secondary focus will be raising awareness of the wider advertising opportunities in our 4 information centres we own across the Lake District. Namely A4 poster sites and 30 second adverts running on digital screens across all centres.

About you

This is a role for an experienced sales person who can hit the ground running and who can demonstrate their ability to grow advertising revenue quickly.

You will be self-motivated, driven and enthusiastic with strong negotiation skills. You will be able to demonstrate experience of selling advertising for digital products. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to hit targets and go above and beyond what is expected.

A background in tourism or destination management within Cumbria would be advantageous and experience with using a CRM platform such as SalesForce.

Terms:

Freelance part-time contract for services which will run from June – July 2017.

The contract fee is £150 day rate and attractive bonus scheme. It is expected the freelance consultant will work 1-2 days a week for a 6 week period, total of 12 days. Time commitment will vary throughout the period of the contract to be agreed in the early planning phase.

Income target is £75,000. A bonus of up to 5% of total sales will be rewarded if agreed income target generated. Please note, bonus scheme is in relation to total final sales not a rolling accumulative amount.

A review will be held after every 4 working days (every two weeks) to monitor sales and up take.
