Brockhole on Windermere is undergoing some significant developments, particularly in Brockhole House and especially with our food and dining offer, and we are looking for dedicated people to join our new, enthusiastic and ambitious team to help create an exceptional dining experience at our stunning Lake District Visitor Centre. We have an existing busy main family café, and two great seasonal catering cabins in the gardens.
New for 2018 is the Arts & Crafts inspired restaurant “The Gaddum”, which will be offering high quality afternoon teas, à la carte lunches and evening dining (the latter from May to September).
You will be responsible for leading and motivating the team to achieve excellent standards in customer service, food quality and health & safety practices, whilst supervising their day to day activities, ultimately working to provide the customer with an experience to remember. The catering operation is fast paced that is open seven days a week. You will be responsible for overseeing the catering for corporate and private bookings and events.
You will deputise in the absence of the Catering Manager and therefore you will be responsible for managing a team ensuring they deliver a friendly and efficient service experience to a diverse range of customers.
You will need to have an NVQ3 or equivalent and demonstrable catering and hospitality experience. You also need to have a sound knowledge of Health & Safety/ Food hygiene issues connected with a café operation.
Your working week will be 5 days over 7 including either a Saturday or Sunday and occasionally both. In return we can offer you a competitive salary and benefits package which will be discussed on application.
As a Catering Supervisor, you will have already gained some experience in leading and motivating a small team, and working in and organising a busy café. You will be highly motivated, with strong people management skills, along with the ability to problem solve and think on your feet. If you are enthusiastic and keen to develop, we would love you to join our front of house management team.
For an informal discussion and to find out more about the role, please contact Michael Vanheste, Catering Manager on telephone number 015394 46601.
