One of the National Park's purposes is:
To promote opportunities for the understanding and enjoyment of the special qualities of the National Park by the public.
To help us ensure the opportunity for understanding and enjoyment is open to everyone, we are carrying out Equality Impact Assessments for our service areas.
This is a way of systematically assessing the effects of our services on different groups of people that visit the National Park. The assessments will also help us improve our services.
Our Joint Equality Scheme explains our commitment to equality and diversity and the actions that we will take over the next two years to deliver this. This has been updated to show progress made in 2011 to 2012. There is a separate report that explains what action has been taken in that year. Our scheme also contains information about our organisation and the communities we work with. This document also ensures we are compliant with the Equality Act.
