Volunteer Support Administrator

Volunteer Support Administrator

£17,127 - £18,743 (pro rata)

Part Time post (18.5 hours per week, 0.5 FTE)

Do you feel passionate about the Lake District National Park and want to help look after it by helping others care for what is special about the Lake District? The Volunteer Coordination Team is looking for a Part Time Volunteer Support Administrator.

The Lake District National Park is supported by more than 450 committed volunteers who dedicate their time to all areas of work across the Park from leading guided walks, to maintaining upland paths, undertaking archaeological surveys or monitoring rights of way.  The Volunteer Coordination Team are there to support volunteers, plan and deliver training, support staff in volunteer management and support volunteers in all aspects of their experience, promote volunteering internally and in the wider community, explore the development of volunteering opportunities and coordinate the delivery of the Strategy for Volunteering.

We are looking for a part time Volunteer Support Administrator, a role that is extremely valuable to the team and to volunteers themselves as it is often the first point of call for their enquiries.  You will have day to day contact with volunteers, staff and members; dealing with enquiries, supporting a busy training programme, assisting with the production of newsletters and events, as well as helping people volunteer with us and supporting our various teams who organise volunteering.  No two days will be the same so we are looking for a dynamic individual who is motivated by diversity in a job role, is a real ‘people person’ and can manage meticulous organisational structures in order to provide excellent administrative support and maintain systems and software including the Volunteers Database and Volunteers Extranet.

In return for the commitment and drive that you will bring to the Volunteer Coordination Team, you will receive a competitive salary, access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, flexible working arrangements and access to salary sacrifice schemes.
